Once assembled, this Carpenter-Gothic house will make a quaint dollhouse for older children or a charming model home for your collection. The design of this cottage dollhouse is based on the style of a community of small cottages on the Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard built shortly after the Civil War. Resembling the tents that preceded them, these cottages were traditionally closely spaced and measured just 11 feet by 19 feet. Their fronts were decorated in gingerbread and bargeboards that mimicked tent trim. The Greenleaf Vineyard Cottage captures the magic of these wonderful structures and features two first floor rooms, two dormers, a small nook above the loft, a staircase, Gothic bay, and upper and lower front porches.

Once assembled, the dollhouse will have a true miniature scale of 1 inch = 1 foot. The open-side design provides easy access to the interior at all times. Fish scale-style wood shingles and gingerbread trim enrich the beautiful design. This Greenleaf dollhouse kit contains all the pre-cut plywood and plastic window parts needed. The parts feature an easy tab-and-slot assembly requiring no nails, screws, or tools. Any wood glue or a hot melt glue gun can be used to assemble the kits in just hours. This dollhouse kit does not come with paint, furnishings, or other decorations. Age recommendations: Assembly - 12 and up. Assembly with parent - 7 and up. Finished houses are not recommended for young children.
