I built this model for my two daughters 34 years ago. I've had it covered with a plastic sheet for the last 29 years and I just finished "renovating" it for my two granddaughters for 2007 Christmas. The stained and varnished floors, papered walls, trim, "exterior" paint and all glue joints held up all this time. New additions include a 39 inch stone chimney and a roof window in a rear bedroom. My daughter expects "the girls" to cry when they see it, but I think I know which two girls will be crying.

      I purchased this for my granddaughter for her 6th birthday. She was very excited and loves it. One day as we worked on it together she looked up at me and said, Grandma I love you. She did comment that it is going to take a long time. I purchased a dremel tool to speed up the sanding of intricate pieces when I got tired of hand sanding. There are so many options for finishing and adding furnishings to this dollhouse. I am having so much fun that I believe that it could get quite expensive.

      I thoroughly enjoyed building this house. I added a lot of extra's to mine, so the 15 hrs for assembly is strictly for those who don't decorate, unfinished only. The kids were asking me to give it to Them, long before I finished it, and it was causing quite a stir. lol Everyone who saw it Loved it, and I'd build another one in a heart beat!

      This house is very sturdy and i got it at an antique store and i looked at the wallpaper and realized it was signed and dated 1972 and it is great condition.I only had problems with a few of the shingles and the trim.

      We have 3 girls who are extremely excited about this doll house. They can't wait for the kit to be completed. They love the size and style of the house and all of the rooms. We also bought a furniture kit as well and that's a big plus but haven't assembled yet. The girls are already getting their Polly Pockets ready for moving in. Some issues during assembly have been loose fit of a few pieces but finishing took care of that, overall most pieces are right on, one large piece had partially delaminated and had a water mark on the wood (but I was able to repair with glue and clamp and it turned out just fine).
      Overall, the quality is very good, the fit is very good, the details are excellent, and it has been fairly straightforward to assemble. The instructions and tips included are very helpful. I would buy this product again but if doing over I would plan the colors and have paint, lighting, and decorating plans ready during assembly otherwise it takes longer to assemble and finish.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
