I haven't given the gift yet. In fact I haven't completed the house. I think this is great for adults who want to take a lot of time to sand each piece and really make it nice. But I can also put my 12 hours with a glue gun in and make a beautiful doll house. There is a lot or a little work to be done on this and it will still be very nice. More visual guides would have been better but it was fairly easy to figure out. The wood is only 1/4 inch mahogany or something so it is a bit flimsy but if the child is given guidelines on how to keep care of it, it should last.

I have always wanted to build a dollhouse. When I was a child, my parents could not afford to buy one, so I made my own out of cardboard boxes! Although I am not finished with this yet, so far it has been pretty easy. I definitely recommend painting all of the window casings and doors before gluing on the windows! A very tedious project, but just be patient and have fun! I'm having a blast! Can't wait to start decorating!!

Very easy for me to figure out for my first dollhouse, only complaint, there were some steps missing in the instructions and all of the numbers in the directions that were supposed to tell me which wood sheet the pieces were on was incorrect so I had to manually figure it.out. other that that it was excellent and so much fun!

the overall design was great but pieces of it started to seperate upon cuttin them from forms. and I would suggest maybe a film over the clear pieces that can be taken off up putting together. I am also a beginner so that part of porblem also. but I am going to buy more thank you
