Comments about Greenleaf Magnolia Dollhouse Kit - 1 Inch Scale:
I love the Greenleaf designs; these houses are cute and what I always pictured dollhouses too look like. But I think I know why the Greenleafs are cheaper; the materials are simply too flimsy, and the simple removal of the pieces from the die-cut sheets were always iffy, as many of the pieces either shredded or had to be cut out. You WILL need wood fill, and though the directions mention using a hot glue gun, just use regular wood glue and tape. It will take longer to put the house together but it won't look too warped. And prime every single piece, as there is serious warpage with some pieces.
In spite of this, the house IS beautiful, and (at least from a distance) looks lovely. Not made for small children, as it is also fairly lightweight and may not tolerant harsh use.

Comments about Greenleaf Magnolia Dollhouse Kit - 1 Inch Scale:
After considerable thought, and discussion with wife and granddaughter - finished the kit without the front porch roof. I think it looks much better. I also used square dyed grey shingles rather than unfinished. This is not a kit for first-time builders because directions (without pictures) are vague. At completion I was very happy.

Comments about Greenleaf Magnolia Dollhouse Kit - 1 Inch Scale:
Previous experience with model building and wood working very helpful. Be prepared to sand small parts, particularly edges since the stock is thin plywood. Paint selection and form of application is critical to final appearance. Overall, a satisfying experience, especially when you see a child's response.

Comments about Greenleaf Magnolia Dollhouse Kit - 1 Inch Scale:
This was my firt time in making a kit doll house. Although the finished product turned out acceptable, I found the directions difficult to follow. I was short two windows but instead of asking for replacements, I made them with my scroll saw. Time wise it took me about 25hrs. to complete which was no problem but I could have been more efficient if the directions were more clear.
