Bought this for my girls for Christmas, almost 4 and 2 years old. I have been researching to find the perfect dollhouse for them for almost two years. I really was leaning towards the Cherry Hill Dollhouse by KidKraft, but was never quite happy with the color scheme. I really liked the open layout that would allow multiple children to play together. So when I found the same dollhouse but in the pastel colors I was overjoyed and bought it right away.

Just got it in the mail, so fast by the way, thanks. And wanted to put it together in case I had to work out any kinks. Everything came packaged very well and did not get damaged in shipping even though the outside box was a bit scuffed up. I did the assembly by myself and it took me about two hours. But I really took my time checking each piece and such.

One tip: I tried to use our automatic screw driver for the first screw in, and it was too powerful and stripped the delicate wood. After that I used a hand held screwdriver and it worked beautiful, just took more muscle power. The structure has pieces that just slide together and parts that take screws, because of this there is a tiny bit of give when you lift the dollhouse up to move it. But not enough to be concerned. But I will definitely make sure my kids don't climb on it or put their weight on it. Overall the dollhouse and furniture is very sturdy. And I think come Christmas morning they are going to be very happy.

I am very dissapointed that the walls and roof are covered with paper rather than painted. This paper was already peeling off as I unpacked and assembled it. It is peeling off of the edges and corners and is scratched in some areas. Not what I was expecting for a dollhouse at this price. The quality is something you would find at a local department store for 1/3 the cost. :(

        I researched different houses and found this design with access from all sides to be a great idea. I especially like the turntable. The assembly took 40 minutes and that was due to extra special care in reading the directions. I was not sure about dollhouses galore as I never heard of them but I felt the selection was great and the reviews were helpful. This house is made of wood with paper room decor laminated to the surfaces for a colorful finished look. The wood is thin but seems durable enough for normal play. The set I chose was the deluxe which included many pieces of furniture all of excellent quality wood. I also ordered the family of dolls which is a must. This is a great kids dollhouse designed to be played with and perhaps not up to collector standards but excellent for kids 4 and up. I highly recommend this over the houses that only have access from the back as it allows multiple kids to play and is a great concept. I chose this over the house from pottery barn kids and am happy with my choice. I did not give five stars as I reserve that for only really exceptional products but we really have not found any cons to this prodct.

        Great Dollhouse I wish they had this dollhouse when I was a little girl. I was so excited to give this to my daughter for Christmas 2010. A doll house was number one on her Xmas list. On Christmas eve night I hid in the bathroom and assembled it while she watched T.V didn't want her to hear me putting it together(apt is small lol). I placed it right next to the tree with a bow and in the morning she was shocked to see it. She is plays with it ALL day. Thanks KidKaft and Hayneedle.com

        I love that it swivels and the layout/design/size is great. It's very sweet-looking and colorful without being gaudy like a lot of other dollhouses. My only complaint so far is that the paper veneer chips and peels VERY easily. I was very careful when putting it together but still managed to scuff the finish and peel back the paper in several places.
