She and her dad put it together immediately - very simple (less than 90 minutes) and she began staining the floors and painting the exterior - she would have gone further, but the arts store isn't open on Christmas. The very next day, she was up and dressed, ready to go... We bought more paints and she's already planned out each room, including the fixtures, appliances, furniture, and Wii! And, invited friends over to check it out and help paint it. :-)

Excellent investment meant to withstand time and use. Young children cannot hurt it and older children love to decorate it adding their own personal touch.

While quite easy to assemble, the lack of written instructions actually made the project more intimidating. Painting before assembly should have been suggested. A well-crafted, solidly constructed product. A base would be a great addition. Will definitely buy another product from this line.

I bought this for my young daughter based on other reviews on this site. I am very glad that I did! It went together so easily we were able to play with it almost immediately. No special tools or swearing involved. I do hate the steps (they are tacky and get in the way of one room) so we took those off to add better ones. But otherwise this is a perfect dollhouse for kids - very solid (too heavy for them to move around though), roomy and more "big girl" than most other kiddie dollhouses.
